A Message from the Principal – Mr. Asanji

Dear Students, Parents, Colleagues, and Visitors,

It is a great honor and privilege to serve as the Principal of Pathfinder Comprehensive School, and I warmly welcome you to our school’s website. Whether you are a prospective student, a concerned parent, a returning member of our school family, or simply a visitor, I am delighted that you are here.

Pathfinder Comprehensive School stands as a testament to the power of vision, hard work, and commitment to excellence. Under the visionary leadership of our Proprietor, Mr. Tencha Christopher, this school has grown into a reputable institution of learning that is making a real difference in the lives of young people in Pinyin and beyond.

As Principal, my primary responsibility is to ensure that our school delivers on its promise of quality education. This means maintaining high academic standards, creating a disciplined and orderly learning environment, supporting and developing our teaching staff, and putting the needs and welfare of our students at the center of everything we do.

Our academic programme is comprehensive, offering both General and Commercial Education from Form 1 through Upper Sixth. We prepare our students for the General Certificate of Education (GCE) Ordinary Level and Advanced Level examinations, and I am proud to say that our students have consistently demonstrated strong performance in these national examinations. But we are not satisfied with “good enough” — we are constantly striving to do better, to push boundaries, and to set new standards of excellence.

At Pathfinder, we understand that education is not just about passing exams. It is about developing the whole person. That is why, in addition to our rigorous academic programme, we place great emphasis on discipline, moral values, leadership development, and extracurricular activities. We want our students to leave Pathfinder not just with certificates but with the skills, confidence, and character to succeed in whatever path they choose.

Discipline is a cornerstone of our school culture. We maintain a firm but fair approach to discipline, guided by the rules and regulations of the Anglophone education system and the Cameroon GCE Board. We believe that a well-disciplined student is a successful student, and we work closely with parents and guardians to ensure that our students develop self-discipline and a strong sense of responsibility.

Our teaching staff is our greatest asset. We are blessed with a team of qualified, experienced, and passionate educators who go above and beyond to ensure that every student receives the attention, support, and instruction they need to succeed. We invest in continuous professional development for our teachers, ensuring that they stay current with the latest educational practices and methodologies.

I also want to emphasize the importance of parental involvement. Education is a partnership between the school, the student, and the parents. I encourage all parents and guardians to take an active role in their children’s education — attend PTA meetings, check your children’s homework, communicate with their teachers, and reinforce at home the values we teach at school. Together, we can achieve remarkable results.

Our academic year runs from September to June, with well-structured terms and two-week breaks after every three months. This structure ensures that students have adequate time for learning, revision, rest, and extracurricular activities.

To our students, I want to remind you that you hold the key to your own success. No teacher, no parent, and no school can do the work for you. Take advantage of every opportunity this school offers — attend your classes, do your assignments, read in the library, participate in activities, and above all, maintain discipline. The habits you develop now will determine the person you become tomorrow.
